Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

When you create a WheelWise account, we collect:

• Email address — used for authentication, password resets, and (optionally) notification alerts.
• Options trade data — positions you enter manually or import via CSV, including ticker symbols, strike prices, premiums, and dates. This data is stored so you can track and analyze your trades.
• Watchlist tickers — stock symbols you add to your watchlist.

We do not collect: brokerage credentials, bank account information, Social Security numbers, payment card numbers, or any other financial account details.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the WheelWise service (position tracking, analytics, screener).
• To authenticate your account and maintain your session.
• To send transactional emails (password resets, account verification).
• To send optional notification emails if you opt in (expiry alerts, weekly digests).

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with Row Level Security (RLS) enabled. This means your trade data is isolated to your account — no other user can access it. All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plaintext.

4. Third-Party Services

• Supabase — database hosting and authentication. Supabase Privacy Policy
• Vercel — application hosting and serverless functions. Vercel Privacy Policy
• Yahoo Finance (via yfinance) — market data for the screener and live quotes. We send stock ticker symbols only; no user data is shared with Yahoo.

5. CSV Import

When you import a CSV file from your brokerage, the file is parsed entirely in your browser. The raw CSV file is never uploaded to our servers. Only the extracted trade summaries (ticker, strike, premium, dates) are sent to our database.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser localStorage solely to maintain your authentication session. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party advertising cookies.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual positions or your entire watchlist at any time from within the app. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.

8. Children's Privacy

WheelWise is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
